What are some life skills that are important to you? Where did you learn some of your life skills from? When do you find yourself using these life skills in your day to day life?
A life skill that is very important to me is my self care. It is extremely beneficial to take time for yourself, whether that means doing your skin care routine, taking a nap, or maybe even something as simple as taking a shower. We forget how important all these little things are to our mental health. It may sound insignificant, but if you go a long time not prioritizing self care, you will probably notice a drastic difference in the way you feel, and not in a positive way.
ReplyDeleteHi Sydney, Self care is also a very important life skill to me. I think that taking the time to take care of your self can prove to be very beneficial. Self care is a very important life skill that has many positive effects on your mental and physical health.
DeleteThe largest part of self care I lack is sleep and it is extremely important. It Helps you focus and most of all helps keep your energy up. On days that I'm home all day I neglect all self care. I also don't socialize unless at work. My family is what makes me happy, however, I do tend to ignore my needs from time to time. I will start making it a point on my days off to start with self care. I also wouldn't mind adding a work out in there either which will also me maintain and utilize my life skills.
ReplyDeleteHi Kat, I also lack getting a good nights sleep. This can be a very unhealthy habit to have and can take a strain on your mental and physical health. Sleep and rest are incredibly important for your well-being and it’s a simple life skill that can have a really positive impact on many parts of your life.
DeleteI think my most influential life skill that I possess and rely on heavily is my emotional intelligence. I grew up with my family being military, and so we moved around a lot. We were constantly submerged into new cultures and therefore developed an understanding and empathy towards things I may not have understood otherwise. These experiences also provided me the gift of different world views and how to see things from another perspective. I have found that this helps me immensely in job situations, and interestingly enough, job interviews.
ReplyDeleteHi Mars that is so interesting, I also grew up in a military family. We were always moving around and although that was hard I got to experience many different places and for that i am grateful. I agree with your statement that you were constantly submerged into new cultures and therefore developed an understanding and empathy towards things I may not have understood otherwise. These experiences also provided me the gift of different world views and how to see things from another perspective. I have found that this helps me immensely in job situations, and interestingly enough, job interviews.

ReplyDeleteLife skills are very important, and I'm glad you shared Life skills! I am really grateful for my communication skills, my sense of humor, and my sense of empathy I feel toward others. I feel like all of these abilities help make me a great person to talk to, whether it be for fun or in a time of need. I learned most of my life skills from my parents, however, some are just gifts from God. I find myself applying these skills all throughout the day, in every situation I may face. No matter the setting, I am always using my Life Skills! Thanks Life Skills!
